Amazing things happen when you work in partnership across Galway City Arts.
The Black Gate, in partnership with Galway City Arts Office and Music Generation Galway City, presents Black Gate Beginnings, a series of youth music events and workshops taking place in October 2022, funded by Creative Ireland. The series will feature performances from established music artists as well as opportunities for young people to attend workshops in songwriting and performance. Young songwriters and musicians from Galway will also be invited to perform their own music alongside the featured artists in this series of free to attend, family friendly day-time events.
Featured artists include eclectic wordsmith Steo Wall, gaeilgeoir rapper Súil Amháin, soulful singer and composer Síomha, indie-folk songwriter Niamh Regan, Congolese guitar maestro Niwel Tsumbu and percussion legend Eamonn Cagney.
Events are free admission and open to all. Pre-booking required go to bit.ly/gccmc-tickets to book your place in the audience.
Workshops are also free admission and open to young people from age 13 – 18. Pre-booking required. Email musicgenerationgalwaycity@gretb.ie to book a place.
