The Black Gate, in partnership with Galway City Arts Office and Music Generation Galway City, presents Black Gate Beginnings, a series of youth music events and workshops taking place in October 2022, funded by Creative Ireland.
On October 1st Music Generation Galway City will be supporting talented young musicians from the local Traveller community to take to the stage in the O’Donoghue Centre, University of Galway, following a songwriting and performance masterclass from Steo Wall, a contemporary urban-based folk artist from Dublin. Drawing on his Traveller heritage, Steo mixes folk-inspired melodies with spoken word, bringing the listener on a journey from the first note.
