Music Generation to showcase young songwriters, musicians and bands from Galway City and County at Livefeed youth music event for Cruinniú na nÓg in the Róisín Dubh, June 10
Ireland is the first, and only, country in the world to have a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18. Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.
As part of this free day of creativity for children and young people, popular youth music project Livefeed has invited some incredible young songwriters, musicians and bands from across Galway City and County for a daytime concert in Galway’s iconic music venue, the Róisín Dubh.
The event runs from 2pm – 3:30pm in the Róisín Dubh on June 10th and is free and open to all ages. To book your free place in the audience visit bit.ly/gccmc-tickets
This event is run in collaboration between Music Generation Galway City and Music Generation Galway County with support from Galway City Council, Galway County Council, Foróige, Cruinniú na nÓg, Creative Ireland and Galway Culture Company.
Music Generation Galway City and Music Generation Galway County are part of Music Generation, Ireland’s National Music Education Programme which transforms the lives of children and young people through access to high-quality, subsidised performance music education. Established by its parent company Music Network, Music Generation is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships.
As part of a national network, Music Generation Galway City and Music Generation Galway County are managed and funded locally by Galway and Roscommon Education & Training Board (GRETB), with other local funding partners Galway City Council, Galway County Council, Galway City Partnership, Galway Rural Development, Tusla, Foróige, Youth Work Ireland and Involve.
Livefeed is a Music Generation project for young people interested in music performance, production and promotion. The project provides new opportunities for young people to perform and enjoy live music in safe, alcohol-free environments through a programme of live music events and workshops across Galway city and county. Livefeed was created through the Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture programme and is supported by Galway Culture Company.
