Music Generation Galway City has been busily helping with a fantastic project in St Francis National School, Tirellan. The school commenced a music residency in October 2019 as part of a year-long “Per Cent for Art” project with Wall2Wall music from Derry and have had 4 visits from the team of four musicians to date. Wall2Wall have been exploring themes of “Global Citizenship” with all of the children in the school, writing a school song with all of the students around the themes of “Global Citizenship” and creating soundscapes and videoscapes. The 6th class students have also been getting lots of special treatment from Wall2Wall and composing, rehearsing and playing together as a large music ensemble. On Friday June 18th, the whole project will culminate with a performance at The Black Box theatre in Galway- stay tuned for more information!
